To enable password protection, navigate to Device Settings tab in the web UI and select Security.
Username/Password
Default username: The default (and only!) username is admin. It cannot be changed.
- There are no limitations on the password, it can be as simple as one letter or as complex as needed
- Example: sUp3rC0mp[3><P@ssw0rc|
- It is recommended to write down the password along with the respective IP address/device name
Web UI Authentication as implemented
When attempting to access the IP address of the Videon device with authentication enabled, the following pop-up will show in the web browser requiring the username/password to be entered before the web UI becomes accessible.
Enabling/Disabling Authentication
Disabling authentication: Disabling authentication will erase the set password permanently
The password must be set again every time authentication is enabled. This ensures the password is set deliberately and known upon enabling authentication.
