Sometimes it may be desirable to configure a video-only stream using Videon products. The steps below outline how to configure a stream when you have a camera without a microphone or other type of video source feeding a Videon product which has no audio signal embedded on the feed (whether HDMI or SDI).
Steps for Configuration
- On the local web UI, under Input Settings > Audio Input, select 3.5mm Audio.
(3.5mm Audio always has a noise floor present on the analog input channel which is detected as an audio signal by Videon products - see the capture below of the AV Input Preview). - Click Save.
- Configure your desired output to stream.
- Some outputs allow for the removal of the audio source by clicking the 'X' to the right of it as displayed below:
- Otherwise, you can assign the appropriate audio profile to the output as well and enable the output to stream to your desired CDN. The noise floor of the analog audio signal should allow for a successful stream from a source without audio.
Happy streaming!
