As an Org Admin, you have the ability to assign licenses to your devices in your Organization. Licenses can be purchased by contacting your Videon sales representative and will be allocated to your Organization upon completed purchase.
Assign allocated organization licenses to devices
- Log in to LiveEdge Cloud: https://videoncloud.com/
- Ensure you are in the org that has the licenses allocated to it
- If you need to change to the correct org, do so via Settings -> Switch Organization and select the correct org
- Navigate to https://videoncloud.com/licenses to access your org's License Manager

- Locate the license you would like to assign to devices in your org, click on the name of the license (in this example, "LE-CLOUD-PRO-MAX") and click "Manage Allocation" in that license's row
- If you do not see this button, check your user permission levels via Settings -> My Organizations -> [Your org name]

- Click "+ Attach Devices"
- Select every device that you want to assign the license to (up to the number of uses you were allocated)
- Click "Attach Devices"
- Licenses will be assigned to those devices and applied on reboot of the device
How to install a license manually on a device not connected for communication with Videon’s LiveEdge Cloud Control platform (ONLY on software versions >V10.4.0)
In most cases, Videon devices are configured with Cloud Control enabled by default on shipment. If you are an active Cloud Control user, the above instructions should suffice for licensing your Videon device. If, however, your Videon device(s) are installed in a workflow requiring that communication with the Cloud Control platform is disabled, these instructions will help you determine how to install a license on your device manually using Cloud Control simply for the procurement and download of the license. (NOTE: This functionality is only available on software versions >V10.4.0).
- Pre-requisite: the above steps must be completed for the device on which you will be assigning the license.
- Navigate to https://videoncloud.com/devices and navigate to the device of interest. Note: the device does NOT need to be online in LiveEdge Cloud for this.
- Navigate to the Licenses tab of the device of concern.
- Click Reload to ensure your license list is current.
- Click Download License File
- A license file with your Device Name and ending in the file extension .lic will be downloaded to your computer.
- Navigate to the Videon device’s local web UI. See Connecting to Videon devices for more information on accessing the Videon local web UI.
- Navigate to the Advanced page of the web UI.
- Under the Feature Licensing section, click the Upload Entitlement button under Upload entitlement license.
- Upload the license file just downloaded to your PC.
- If successful, you will receive a dialog box stating that the upload was successful.
- Otherwise, if the upload fails, you will receive an error message

- Reboot your device for the license to fully apply.
