This article applies to Videon devices running the Supervisor Web UI introduced in V13.0.0. If your device shows the earlier Web UI without the Supervisor sidebar, use [LEGACY ARTICLE URL TO INSERT].
The Videon Web UI is organized into two primary areas that help you manage both your encoding workflows and device administration:
Encoder provides access to video and audio inputs, encoding profiles, MBR groups, outputs, and other encoder-related configuration options.
Platform provides access to Supervisor tools for monitoring device health, managing applications and storage, viewing logs, adjusting system settings, and performing software updates.
To open Supervisor, enter the device IP address and configured Supervisor port in a supported browser, for example http://<device-ip>:8080. The port may differ if it was changed under Platform > Settings > Supervisor.
Navigate Supervisor
The Supervisor sidebar remains available throughout the interface, making it easy to move between encoder and platform functions. Select Encoder to configure the encoder application, or expand Platform to open Supervisor pages. The device name appears in the header.
Supervisor navigation and the Platform Overview page.
Platform
Overview
The Overview page provides a read-only summary of device status and is often a helpful starting point when troubleshooting. It shows:
Device name, network hostname, device type, serial number, power source, memory, and uptime.
Device health and status charts for CPU, load average, memory, GPU, storage, network, and temperature.
Detected input connection, video, and audio status.
Application and container counts, plus recent Supervisor jobs.
Some status information may take a few moments to populate after Supervisor loads. Use Refresh jobs to update the recent-jobs list.
Applications
The Applications page lists the applications installed on the device, their versions, health information when available, and current state. Use the search field to filter the list.
Selecting Encoder from the sidebar takes you directly to the encoder application (videon-daemon-web).

Storage
The Storage page contains Storage management and FTP tabs. Storage management lists attached removable storage and disk images. After selecting a device, the available actions can include Eject, Rename, Clear recordings, and Format.
Clear Recordings and Format permanently remove data from the selected storage device. Before proceeding, make sure any recordings or files you wish to keep have been backed up.
For recording workflow guidance, see File recording tips and FTP upload tips.
Storage management and its available actions.
Logs
The Logs page shows whether host and application log streams are available. If requested by Videon Support, select Download Support File to generate a package containing device information, health metrics, and recent log data that can assist with troubleshooting.

Settings
Settings are organized into tabs. The tabs shown vary by device model, installed software, and entitlements.
Device
Change the device name, time zone, NTP servers, and date/time synchronization. This tab also contains controls to set the clock, reset settings, factory reset, restart, or shut down the device.
Reset, factory reset, restart, and shutdown actions may interrupt active streaming, recording, or other device operations. A factory reset removes significantly more configuration and stored settings than a standard Reset Settings. Review Factory Reset before using either reset action.
Network
Review and configure network interfaces, address assignment, DNS information, DNS cache, and routes. Changes to network settings may temporarily disconnect your browser session from the device. See Network tips before changing addressing or routing.
Fans
Select an available fan profile and apply it. Available profiles are hardware-dependent.
FPGA
View or change the FPGA boot mode when supported by the device. Most users will not need to modify this setting unless following a documented procedure or working with Videon Support.
Supervisor
Configure access to the Supervisor Web UI, including authentication, the HTTP port, standard web ports, and HTTPS options. Changing these settings can move the UI to a different URL or require a new sign-in.
LiveEdge Cloud
View or change the device connection to LiveEdge Cloud. Disconnecting a device from LiveEdge Cloud may affect remote monitoring and management functionality.
Entitlements
Refresh entitlement status or upload an entitlement file supplied by Videon.
Settings tabs and the Supervisor web-access page.
Updates
The Updates page reports the installed host OS, pending OS update, download status, application-update status, container state, and recovery availability. Select Check for updates to refresh status. When an update is available, follow Update Videon Device Software before selecting Apply update.
Applying a software update may restart applications or the device. To avoid disrupting active workflows, we recommend performing updates during a planned maintenance window and ensuring power remains connected throughout the update process.

Encoder
Select Encoder from the Supervisor sidebar to access the encoder application and configure your streaming workflows. Its top navigation contains Encoder Control, Device Settings, Advanced, and Help.
Encoder Control page and its primary navigation.
Encoder Control
Encoder Control contains the input, encoding-profile, MBR-group, and output settings used to build a streaming workflow.
Select a device
On LiveEdge Node and EdgeCaster systems, use Select a Device to choose the encoder to configure. On a single-device system, the available device is selected automatically.
AV Input
Select an input under AV Input to view the detected resolution, frame rate, and audio status; choose video and audio sources; configure input rotation; and manage features such as static graphic overlay and input preview. On LiveEdge Max, select + Add Profile under AV Input to add the second input when available.
Video Profiles
Select + Add Profile under Video Profiles to create a profile. Existing profiles can be removed using the delete control that appears when hovering over the profile. A profile defines settings such as codec, scaling, frame rate, bitrate, keyframe interval, and quality/latency behavior.
With default base licensing, Node can store up to 3 video profiles, with active profiles limited to a combined 4Kp30 processing load. Max can store up to 6 video profiles, with active profiles limited to a combined 4Kp120 processing load. Actual profile capacity will vary depending on resolution, scaling, frame rate, codec selection, and other enabled features.
MBR Group
Enable MBR Group Member for each video profile you would like included in a multi-bitrate streaming workflow. A device supports one MBR group at a time. Use Group Settings to apply shared frame-rate limit, keyframe interval, and quality/latency settings to all members.
For an HTTP Push MBR workflow, see Configuring a multiple-bitrate stream using HTTP Push.
Audio Profiles
Select + Add Profile to create an audio profile and select the required source, codec, channel, and bitrate settings. Node and EdgeCaster support up to eight audio profiles. Available channels and codecs depend on the detected input and device capabilities.
Data Profiles
Node and Max devices can embed ancillary data in Transport Stream outputs. Supported data encoders can include SMPTE-2038, KLV (SMPTE-336), and SCTE-35. SCTE-35 markers can also be triggered through the REST API. Data-profile availability depends on the input, output type, software, and entitlements.
Outputs
To create a new output, select + Add Profile under Outputs, choose an output type, and assign the appropriate video, audio, MBR, or data sources. Profiles can be shared by multiple outputs when the device has sufficient resources. Custom output names can make destinations easier to identify; see Custom Output Naming.
RTMP: Streams to services such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live. See RTMP destination workflows.
HTTP Push: Sends HLS or DASH files to an origin server or CDN. An MBR group can be selected as the video source for multiple-bitrate output.
Multicast: Sends a one-to-many transport stream, usually on a local network. See Multicast streaming tips.
Unicast: Sends a point-to-point transport stream. See Unicast streaming tips.
SRT: Adds retransmission buffering and optional encryption to a point-to-point workflow. See Streaming SRT.
Zixi: Uses Zixi transport, latency/FEC controls, and optional encryption. See Zixi streaming.
WHIP: Sends ultra-low-latency WebRTC using a generic WHIP endpoint or a supported integration. See Introducing WHIP Output.
RTSP: Hosts an RTSP stream at the URL shown in the output settings.
Recording and FTP: Records to attached storage and can upload completed files to an FTP server. See File recording tips and FTP upload tips.

Device Settings
The encoder application still includes System and XML settings.
System contains the encoder application's device name, NTP, time zone, and network-interface controls. For devices running Supervisor, most routine device and network configuration should be performed under Platform > Settings > Device and Platform > Settings > Network. The settings in this section are typically used only for specific Videon workflows or procedures.
XML configures remote XML control, authentication, and polling interval. See Using XML Control.
Advanced
The encoder application's Advanced page includes access to several functions that are now primarily managed through Supervisor, including software updates, entitlements, LiveEdge Cloud configuration, storage management, and support information. In Supervisor, use the corresponding Platform pages:
Software update → Platform > Updates
Entitlements → Platform > Settings > Entitlements
LiveEdge Cloud → Platform > Settings > LiveEdge Cloud
Time, reset, restart, and shut down → Platform > Settings > Device
